Learn to Dance
Feel like you're outside your element when asked to dance? Try Salsa Dancing! There are beginner classes that are perfect for those of us who think they have two left feet. There's no pressure and classes are lots of fun. You don't even need a partner! All classes have students rotating with other students so as well as learning dance steps you'll be making new friends. Check out the Frequently Asked Questions for more information.
Classes
Have fun while learning to dance!
If you're in town for only a few days and need a dancing fix, or a local looking for regular classes, check out the Class Schedule. With dance classes running every weeknight there is sure to be a class time to suit everyone. Once you've mastered beginner steps progress to the more advanced classes. Most classes are 'drop in' so you don't feel pressured into committing to any specific number of weeks.
Workshops
Improve your dancing skills in just hours!
Workshops are a great way to improve your dancing and learn new technique, steps and routines in a very short period. A workshop may be just for an hour or two, or may be a series of sessions spread over a few weeks. They are usually focused on a particular dance style or technique. The local teachers run some great sessions and sometimes they are run by visiting teachers. Keep an eye on the 'Upcoming Events' calendar for workshop details.
Social Dancing
Putting your moves into Practice!
Social dancing is a great way to have fun in a more relaxed environment then in class. But the learning doesn't stop! Dancing socially is a great way for guys to practice their leading and for the ladies they can refine how they follow the man's lead. These events also allow you to get to know your fellow dancers off the the dance floor. Its a great way to meet new people. Social dances run regularly in Townsville so keep an eye on the 'Upcoming Events' for details.
